Το Τραγούδι της Εβδομάδας: Circo Fantasma – “The Garden” (Ο Κήπος)

“Η μουσική είναι κατά βάση ένα όχημα συναισθημάτων, για όσους την φτιάχνουν και για όσους την απολαμβάνουν. Δεν είναι εύκολα συναισθήματα, ικανά να αντέξουν τη δοκιμασία του χρόνου… πιθανώς σαν ένα υπέροχο κρασί…”, Nicola Cereda.
Με διεθνή χροιά και αύρα του πιο αιματηρού και πιο Underground Rock, πάθος και έντονη μουσική έξω από τα στερεότυπα, εκφράζουν την τέχνη τους σύμφωνα με τα δικά τους πιστεύω, χωρίς συμβιβασμούς, έτσι όπως την έχουν ονειρευτεί.
Το Τραγούδι της Εβδομάδας, που επιλέξαμε να ακούσουμε σήμερα, είναι το “The Garden” από τους Circo Fantasma. Κυκλοφόρησε το 2012 μέσα από το άλμπουμ “Playing With The Ghost”, μια υπέροχη μελωδία που μας έχει συγκινήσει, σε διασκευή των Einstuerzende Neubaten.
Οι Circo Fantasma δημιουργήθηκαν στην Λομβαρδία το 1994 από τους Francesco De Luca (τύμπανα), Nicola Cereda (κιθάρα), Max Carinelli (φωνητικά, κιθάρα), Roberto De Luca (μπάσο), Carlo Cereda (ακορντεόν). Δύσκολα μπορεί κανείς να πιστέψει ότι είναι Ιταλοί, όταν τους ακούσει, γιατί ο ήχος τους είναι τόσο τυπικός Blues και Indie που δεν παραπέμπει με τίποτα ότι μπορεί να είναι εγχώριοι.
Όλα ξεκίνησαν στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 1980 όταν ο Nicola Cereda άκουσε από ένα φίλο, το βινύλιο του “Fire of Love” των Gun Club. Εντυπωσιασμένος από την ικανότητα του άλμπουμ να συνδυάσει τον Robert Johnson και το Punk τον συνεπήραν εκείνα τα ψυχωτικά ταξίδια σε αυτοκινητόδρομους που κατοικούνταν από φαντάσματα, τα παραληρημένα ουρλιαχτά τρόμου πνιγμένα στους βάλτους της Λουιζιάνα, τα μπλουζ του σιδηροδρόμου που εκτοξεύτηκαν με σχιζοφρενική ταχύτητα, οι πυρετώδεις ρυθμοί βουντού, τα επιληπτικά τραγούδια της κάντρι.
Το 1995 διασκευάζουν το “The Factory” που κυκλοφορεί στη συλλογή For You: A Tribute to Bruce Springsteen.
Εντυπωσιασμένοι από τον δίσκο “I know the Buffalo Bill” του 1986, όπου συγκεντρώθηκαν για να το ηχογραφήσουν ο Jeremy Gluck των Barracuda, ο Rowland S. Howard των Birthday Party, ο Nikki Sudden και οι Epic Soundtracks των Swell Maps & Jacobites και ο Jeffrey Lee Pierce των Gun Club, οι Circo Fantasma προσπαθούν να αναδημιουργήσουν την αίσθηση που επέτρεψε την κυκλοφορία ενός τέτοιου άλμπουμ.
Αφιερώνουν το “I know Jeffrey Lee” (2006) στον θρυλικό τραγουδιστή των Gun Club, Jeffrey Lee Pierce, μια από τις σημαντικότερες προσωπικότητες της Underground σκηνής. Συμμετέχουν μουσικοί από κάθε γωνιά της Ιταλίας, όλοι ανήκουν στην ανεξάρτητη σκηνή, όπως οι Manuel Agnelli από τους Afterhours, Cesare Basile, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi από τους La Crus, Emidio Clementi από τους Massimo Volume καθώς και οι Nikki Sudden, Steve Wynn και Linda Pitmon.
Έξι χρόνια αργότερα με το “Playing With The Ghost” συνεχίζουν με πάθος και γνησιότητα τον φόρο τιμής στους “κακούς” τους δασκάλους και στους όμορφους ηττημένους του Rock’n’Roll. Με συνεργασία μεγάλων μουσικών όπως ο Alberto Buzzi, ο Max Fi dear, o Giorgio Bonfanti, o Amaury Cambuzat και o Phil Shoenfelt και διασκευές αγαπημένων δημιουργών όπως οι Bad Seeds, Einstuerzende Neubaten, Hugo Race, This Immortal Souls, Birthday Party, Crime And City Solution, Nikki Sudden και Rowland S. Howard, δεν φοβούνται τις συγκρίσεις κανενός είδους.
